Huntshaw is a village and civil parish located two and a half miles NNE of Great Torrington,^[1] in the Torridge district, in the county of Devon, England. Huntshaw has a church called St. Mary Magdelene's Church^[2] which is Grade II* Listed.^[3] There is a mast in Huntshaw called Huntshaw Cross transmitting station. The name Huntshaw is thought to originate from Honey Wood.^[4] Huntshaw was recorded in the Domesday Book as Huneseue.^[5]^[6] In 2001 the population of the civil parish of Huntshaw was 120,^[7] although it was 143 in 1901 and 212 in 1801, Huntshaw was in the Fremington Hundred.^[8] Other features in Huntshaw include Huntshaw Barton^[9] and Huntshaw Mill Bridge which is Grade II listed, although some of it is in Weare Giffard CP.^[10]
