Hurley Medical Center is a teaching hospital serving Genesee, Lapeer, and Shiawassee counties in eastern Michigan since December 19, 1908. Situated in Flint, Michigan, it is a 443-bed public non-profit hospital.[1]

The emergency department is an ACS verified Level I Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.[2] Hurley also has region’s only Burn Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and Pediatric Emergency Department.

Medical Residency

Hurley sponsors medical residency/fellowship programs in Internal Medicine, Transitional Year, Pediatrics, Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Diagnostic Radiology, Geriatric Medicine, Medical Psychology & Trauma Surgery in affiliation with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.

Residents/Fellows of University of Michigan Ann Arbor's Emergency Medicine, Pediatric Dentistry & Pediatric Emergency Medicine programs also rotate at Hurley Medical Center.

Affiliations

It is affiliated with the medical schools of Michigan State University and The University of Michigan. The Whaley Children's Center is adjacent to the hospital.
