Hyde Street Studios
Hyde Street Studios is a music recording facility in San Francisco, CA.[1] Hyde Street Studios operates three rooms, with a Neve 8038 recording console being housed in Studio A.[2]
Historical significance
For more than 30 years the company has been owned by Michael Ward,[3] who in May 2009 donated business records and booking calendars to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame asserts that the records "document the inner workings of a prominent recording studio and provide a behind-the-scenes look at an integral part of the music business." [4]
Hyde Street Studios was previously known as Wally Heider Studios from 1969-1980, and in April 2012 it was marked with a sidewalk plaque from the Uptown Tenderloin Museum commemorating its history.[5]

Hyde Street Studios has hosted such musical artists as The Grateful Dead, Train, Cake, Green Day, Tupac Shakur, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Four2one, Chris Isaak, Walk The Line Soundtrack, Willie Nelson, Tim Buckley, Lost Dog Found, George Clinton, and Triple Wisdom.[2][6]
