Hydrolycus armatus is a species of dogtooth characin found in tropical South America. It is one of four species in the genus Hydrolycus. It occasionally makes its way into the aquarium trade.

Distribution and habitat

This species of fish is found in the Amazon and Orinoco River basins as well a rivers in Guyana.[1]

Description

Adults of this species can grow up to 66 centimetres (26 in) but usually grow smaller.[1]
