I'd Start a Revolution (If I Could Get Up in the Morning) is the first studio album by pop/rock singer-songwriter Aimee Allen. Originally recorded under Elektra Records in 2002, I'd Start A Revolution was dropped and never released when the company merged with Atlantic Records later that year. Despite the album being dropped, its first single "Revolution" was released and was a featured rock video on MTV. The hit single also appeared in the soundtrack of the film Storm, and was the theme for the WB Television Network series Birds of Prey (though replaced for DVD release in 2008).
The album featured guest appearances from DJ Ashba of Sixx:A.M. and Guns N' Roses, underground rapper Pharoahe Monch, bassist Mike Elizondo, Deftones guitarist Stephen Carpenter, and drummer Josh Freese of Guns N' Roses, Nine Inch Nails, and Weezer. The album includes production by Mark Ronson and Don Gilmore.
"Stripper Friends", the seventh track on the album, was re-worked and recorded by Kevin Michael featuring Lupe Fiasco as the hit single "We All Want the Same Thing" and was released by Downtown Records on the debut album Kevin Michael in 2007. That same year, the song was also covered by celebrity Tila Tequila for her MTV reality show A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila.
The song "Revolution" was featured as the theme song of the TV series Birds of Prey based on the comic book series of the same name.
Although the album was never officially widely produced, some promo discs were shipped out and the album was leaked onto the Internet, where it gained a cult following for its title song and Aimee Allen.
