IMS MAXIMS

IMS MAXIMS is a supplier of electronic health record software with offices in Milton Keynes and Dublin.

It supplied a specialised electronic patient record system to Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust for the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville hospital in 2011. The same specialised spinal software is used at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.[1]

In 2015 the company released an open source version of its software, which acute trusts can use and alter the code to tailor the system to their needs.[2] The company is seen as a pioneer in the use of open-source software in the NHS.[3][4]

The company has established a community interest company to support the open-source software it has developed. Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is part of the CIC.[5]
