Indywood Film Market, the flagship event of Indywood Film Carnival and premier trade market for film industry professionals was successfully organized at the biggest film studio in the world, Ramoji Film City[1] on Sep 24 - 27, 2016. Facilitating sales and promotion of international cinema to Indian market and the sales of Indian cinema to international arena, IFM encompassed an array of activities attracting key decision makers from various facets of the movie making industry including Technology & Equipment, Movie Sales & Distribution, Cinema Exhibition Industry, Film Production & Film Studios, Academies & Institutes, Animation, VFX, 3D industry, Associations / Film Commissions & Govt. bodies and more. The market saw the participation of 2700 delegates from 73 countries, presence of over 200+ investors, 110 exhibitors, 25+ film associations, 20+ film commission & Tourism Boards, 50+ International Buyers and Sales Agents and over 10,000 footfalls. The 3 day film market also consisted of regional pavilions with a special focus on ‘North East Cinema’, 40+ sessions conducted by 150+ panelists constituting ace film makers, scholars and industrial stalwarts who enthralled the audience with their expertise. Indywood Film Market[2] also initiated Indywood Film Business Awards to honor the best traders in the industry across the globe. Director of Oscar selected movie Dam999 and Founder Chairman & CEO of Aries Group of Companies, Sohan Roy is the founder director of Indywood Film Carnival. The first edition of Indywood Film Market was held at held from 16 – 18 November 2015 at Le Meridian, Cochin.[3]

Indywood Interactions 2016

Indywood Interactions 2016, organized in association with Indywood Film Market, turned out to be one of the major attractions of the Film Carnival which brought together ace film makers, scholars and industrial stalwarts under one roof. 40+ sessions provided the audience a rare opportunity to gather an insight and a comprehensive understanding of our film industry directly from the experts. Workshops & Presentations provided hands on experience on the tricks and trade of the industry and also provided budding talents an opportunity to hone their skills and learn more about each and every aspect of filmmaking. Interactive sessions had more than 150 footfalls of the living legends of cinema as Panelists and Moderators. The sessions were conducted at 4 different venues BSF 7, 8, 9 which was named after Legendary Filmmakers as Satyajit Ray Hall,[4] Bhupen Hazarika Hall, Yash Chopra Hall and Dadhasaheb Phalke Hall. Special sessions including interactive session from the North East film industry and chat with the Stalwarts of the Bengal film industry were also organized.

Talent Hunt

Indywood Talent Hunt offered a never before opportunity to young talented artists to showcase their proficiency in 12 different categories. Next generation film industry talents were identified, found and awarded at the Indywood Film Carnival, along with an opportunity to be a part of international co-production projects from India. The talent hunt[5] saw a participation of 250 finalists who had the zest to prove themselves as the ‘next-gen’ film industry rulers.

Indywood Film Tourism

Film Tourism projected and promoted India as the ultimate film shooting destination of the world, by leveraging the unique bio-diversity, varied cultural entities and abundance of skilled resources. Providing a platform for the investors to fruitfully interact, network and reach agreements with various tourism divisions of India. Opening potential and cost effective avenues of business centered-around Film Tourism, Indywood Film Carnival offered unique and exclusive tourism packages for the film enthusiasts to go through the inspiring history of 100 years of Indian cinema.

Award Categories

Along with hosting extended presentation of interesting cinema and a stellar film market, astonishing line up of dazzling events in the likes of Golden Frame Awards, Lifetime & Honorary Award, Indywood Excellence Awards (Media, Medical, Maritime and CSR) and Indywood Film Business Awards were also organized. Golden Frame Award was presented to the best films shown in All Lights India International Film Festival. Lifetime Achievement & Honorary Award honoured legends of the industry for their contribution to the movie fraternity. Indywood Film Business Awards (IFBA) honoured business strategists for their ideas and dedication to facilitate trade aspects related to the film business from movie Sales to Distribution.
