Ini Edo is a Nigerian actress. She began her film career in 2000,[2] and has featured in more than 200 movies since that time.[2] In 2013, she was announced as judge for the Miss Black Africa Uk Pageant.[3] Due to her philanthropic gestures, the United Nations appointed her as the United Nations Habitat Youth Envoy.[4]
Early Life and Education
Ini Edo is an Ibibio from Akwa Ibom state in the south-east, not far from Calabar. Her mother was a teacher and her father, a church elder. She had a strict upbringing, the second of four children, three girls, one boy.She attended Cornelius Connely College in Calabar for her secondary school. She graduated from the University of Uyo where she got a Diploma in Theatre Arts. She also completed her Bachelors Degree program at the University of Calabar where she studied English.[5] In 2014 she got a scholarship to study law at National Open University of Nigeria [6]
Career
Her acting career started in 2000 she was discovered by producer at the audition she attended.Her breakthrough came in 2004 when she acted in World Apart .Up to now she has appeared in over 100 films ,she is the one of the highest profile actresses in Nigeria and Africa in general
Personal life
In 2008 she got married with Nigerian-American Based businessman Philip Ehiagwina and got divorced in 2014 due to misunderstanding between them

- She has also been a Glo Ambassador for ten years since 2006.
- And In 2011 she was appointed by United Nations Habitat Youth Envoy to be their ambassador due to her philanthropic gestures
