During the 1996 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships Israel completed in the tournament for the fifth time. During the tournament, Israel competed in the World Championship Group D.[1]
Qualifying round - Group 2
Israel, in addition to competing in Group 2, was also the host nation, with all games played in Metulla. The Greek team was found to have an ineligible roster, therefore the game was deemed a 5–0 forfeit in favor of Israel.[2]
