Ito Smith (born c. 1995) is an American football running back. A native of Semmes, Alabama, he is currently a junior starter for the 2016 Southern Miss Golden Eagles football team.
As a sophomore in 2015, he rushed for 1,128 yards and 10 touchdowns and caught 49 passes for 515 yards.[1] His average of 134 yards of total offense per game in 2015 ranked 18th among Division I FBS players.[2]
In July 2016, Smith was named to the watch list for the Maxwell Award.[3] Through the first three games of the 2016 season, he had rushed for 432 yards, fourth best among Division I FBS players.[4] In September 2016, he set a Southern Miss school record with an 86-yard touchdown run against Savannah State.[5]
