James Allen "J. A." Preston (born November 13, 1932) is an American actor. He is best known for his roles as Ozzie Cleveland on the 1980s television series Hill Street Blues, and court Martial Judge J.A. Randolph in the 1992 film A Few Good Men.[1]
Preston was born in Washington, DC, where he attended public schools before earning a track scholarship to a college in North Carolina.[1] From 1957 to 1972, he was married to Merilyn Alsop (1934–2010), with whom he had three children.[2] Also appeared on the tv series The A-Team as a judge presiding over a military tribunal convened to try the A-Team.
