John "Jack" Bartholomew (20 January 1888[1] — death registered July→September 1965 (aged 77)[2]) born in Morecambe, was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1900s, 1910s, and 1920s, playing at representative level for Great Britain (non-Test matches), and at club level for Morecambe, Huddersfield, and Bradford Northern as a Fullback, Wing, Centre, or Stand-off/Five-eighth, i.e. number 1, 2 or 5, 3 or 4, or 6,[3] his death was registered in Bradford district. Jack Bartholomew was the uncle of the comedian Eric Morecambe (real name John Eric Bartholomew).[4]

International honours

Jack Bartholomew was selected for Great Britain while at Huddersfield for the 1910 Great Britain Lions tour of Australia and New Zealand.[5]

County Cup Final Appearances

Jack Bartholomew played in Huddersfield's 21-0 victory over Batley in the 1909 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1909–10 season at Headingley Stadium on Saturday 27 November 1909, the 8-2 defeat by Wakefield Trinity in the 1910 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1910–11 season at Headingley Stadium on Saturday 3 December 1910,[6] and the 22-10 victory over Hull Kingston Rovers in the 1911 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1911–12 season at Belle Vue, Wakefield on Saturday 25 November 1911.[7]
