Jason Richards (born May 20, 1986) is an American former professional basketball player. He is currently the video coordinator and director of analytics for the Pittsburgh Panthers. Richards last played for the Utah Flash of the NBA Development League. As a senior for Davidson, he led the NCAA Division I in assists, averaging 8.14 per game. He was not selected in the 2008 NBA draft, and temporarily signed with the Miami Heat in the Orlando Summer League. He attended Barrington High School in Barrington, Illinois. Richards was forced to retire after enduring multiple ACL injuries throughout his career. He officially ended his career on January 19, 2010.[1][2]

Personal

Richards is the son of Tom Richards, who played basketball with the Pittsburgh Panthers men's basketball team in the 1970s and later became the chairman and CEO of the CDW corporation.[3]
