Jeff Bieder
Jeff Bieder is a women's basketball coach primarily known for his multiple championships in the Public School Athletic League for the men's and women's divisions.
Early life
He was raised in East New York, Brooklyn.[1] He attended college and played basketball at the University of Bridgeport.[1]
College Coaching
Bieder served as the coach for Hunter College for four seasons earning a 58-52 record.[2] While there he took his team to the CUNY Championships four times in a row.[1]
High School Coaching
Bieder left Hunter College to become the coach at Long Island City High School.[2] After this he moved to Murry Bergtraum High School where led the team to two championships, one in 1980 and the other in 1984.[1] He later lead the South Shore High School women's team to the city championships.[1] At South Shore, he was also the women's coach.[3] He was famous for using the full court press.[4]
Personal life
After 34 years he retired from teaching and coaching.[1] He retired with over 543wins.[5] He retired with a 77% winning percentage [6] He was inducted into the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame.[7]
