Jeffrey Smulyan born April 6, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana is the founder and CEO of Emmis Communications.
Biography
Born to a Jewish family,[1] Smulyan earned undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Southern California. In the early 1990s, Smulyan was an owner of the Seattle Mariners.[2] In 2005, Smulyan was in the running to purchase the Washington Nationals baseball team. The bid was unsuccessful.
In 1981, Jeff and his wife, Janine, were contestants on the NBC game show Las Vegas Gambit. [3]
