João Afonso Telo de Menezes (died 1381) was a Portuguese nobleman, 1st Count of Ourém, 1st Count of Viana do Alentejo, [1] 4th Count of Barcelos.
Biography
João was the son of Afonso Martins Teles Raposo and Berengária Lourenço de Valadares, descendant of Lourenço Soares de Valadares.[2] He was married to daughter of Lopo Fernandes Pacheco and Maria Rodriguez de Vilalobos.[3]
João Afonso was a direct descendant of João Afonso Telo de Meneses, 2nd Lord of Albuquerque.
João Afonso was a father of Pedro de Menezes, 1st Count of Vila Real.
