Jo Malone
Joanne Lesley Malone MBE (born November 1963) is a British perfumer, the founder of Jo Malone London and Jo Loves. She is particularly known for scented candles.
Joanne Lesley Malone was born in November 1963,[1] and grew up in a council house in Bexleyheath, Kent,[2] had severe dyslexia and left school without any qualifications, and created the company on her own.[3]
In 1999, Malone sold Jo Malone London to Estée Lauder for "undisclosed millions".[3]
In 2008, Malone received an MBE.[4] In 2015, she was the "castaway" on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs.[5]
Malone is married to former surveyor, Gary Willcox, and they have a son together.[6]
