Jochen M. Wilms
Jochen Wilms (born 1960 in Dortmund/Germany) is an independent consultant engaged in entrepreneurial ventures and provides strategic advice in the fields of media, internet technology and sustainability.
Jochen Wilms built a distinguished 25-year career in marketing, promotion, sales and management. He worked from 1992 until 2002 as a leading executive in the media industry, with the Bertelsmann AG. Wilms worked with the Bertelsmann AG as Sales and Marketing Manager, Managing Director of Sales and as Managing Director, with responsibility for customer relationship marketing, e-commerce, joint ventures and business development.
In 2002 he joined Schüco International, as the international Senior Executive Vice President and President Schüco USA.[1] He has been involved with environmental issues since 2002 on climate change and developed leading marketing and product strategies in the field of energy efficient products and solar technology with the mission of staving off global warming.[2]
Since 2010 he's been an independent contractor and consultant engaged in entrepreneurial ventures and provides strategic advice to listed and international companies on a board and shareholder level in the fields of media, internet technology and sustainability.
In October 2010 Jochen Wilms met with Bill Shipsey of Amnesty International´s Art for Amnesty and their mutual musician friend Carl Carlton in Dublin. The idea for a commemorative song for Amnesty’s 50th Anniversary was born. This led to the ground breaking Art for Amnesty Band "Toast to Freedom" song which launched worldwide on May 3, 2012.[3]
2011/2012 Wilms has supported Amnesty International in the global roll out of "Chimes of Freedom", Amnesty’s 80+ song, four Cd package of Bob Dylan cover songs.
