Life and career
Born in Naples, Barbieri started his career in 1993, under the production by Pino Daniele.[1][2] He was a member of the vocal group Neri per Caso between 2000 and 2002.[1] Also active as a songwriter for other artists, his major hit was the Giorgia's song "In vacanza con me".[1] In 2003 he founded the record label "Microcosmo".[2] Initially a pop singer, during the years he started a transition towards a more sophisticated style.[2] His music binds world music to jazz, to the tradition of the Italian cantautori.[2][3] Currently has released worldwide four studio album and a live cd+DVD. His latest album, titled "Chet Lives!" is dedicated to the twenty-fifth anniversary of the death of Chet Baker.[2]
