John W. Bandler (born 9 November 1941) is a professor,[1] engineer,[1] entrepreneur,[1] artist, speaker, playwright,[2][3][4] and author of fiction and nonfiction.
Born in Jerusalem, Bandler is known for his invention of space mapping[5][6][7][8][9][10][11] technology and his contributions to device modeling, computer-aided design, microwave engineering, mathematical optimization, and yield-driven design.[12] He has published more than 500 papers. Some of them are highly cited (see Google scholar citations).
In 1997, Hewlett-Packard Company acquired Optimization Systems Associates Inc. (OSA), a company he founded in 1983.[13]
In 2012, a special session at the IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium[14] paid tribute to Bandler on the occasion of his 70th birthday for more than forty-five years of contributions to the field of microwave theory and techniques. In 2013, Bandler reviewed the emergence and history of space mapping in IEEE Canadian Review.[15] It spans two decades of development and engineering applications. In 2016, Rayas-Sanchez reviewed the state of the art of aggressive space mapping, a methodology pioneered by Bandler and his team.[16]
