John Mosely Turner (15 June 1856 – 21 March 1968)[1] was a British supercentenarian and the oldest recognised living person for more than two years, after the death of Hannah Smith in January 1966.[2] Turner is the first British man verified to reach the age of 110.[1]
Born in Mitcham, Turner worked as a silk print cutter and was a teetotaller. He became blind at the age of 73.[3] Turner died at his home in Tottenham in 1968 at the age of 111 years, 280 days.
