Jorge Zambrano is a Venezuelan animator born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1970. He finished his studies at the Central University of Venezuela, obtaining the degree of Bachelor of Arts, Film specialization in 1999.

The Master

In the year 1989 he participated in the animation contest "Animathon" sponsored by the Canadian embassy in Venezuela, where he met his master Felix Nakamura, who would accompany during much of his career in Venezuela.

The Teacher

In the late 1990s, Jorge Zambrano was recruited by Felix Nakamura to organize several animation courses in ICREA (Training Institute for screenwriters and artists) and the Central University of Venezuela.

Illustrations

In 1994 illustrated his first book "The Selfish Giant" with ALFADIL Publishing Company. During 2008 and 2009 develop several illustrated material for Jakks Pacific

Animator, Director and Producer

He develops several animated materials for the production company "CREATEL", also for the Video Games company "ALLOY 2027". Was hired by the “Foundation Magic Window” and produces for Ligia Vianchi, an animated short from the popular animated TV series "Magic Window," the episode "Foods that come and go" is among the short subjects of this well-known television series, which was disseminated in the different channels of Venezuela.

In 2005 he made 6 animated videos based on the successful book by Fabiana Malacarne "GOOD IDEA! Biotechnology for the youngest”, which was awarded the Honorable Mention scientist books at the second national prize book 2006 (Venezuela), the videos have had a successful broadcasts in different print media and audiovisual Venezuela, Argentina and Spain.

"DNA and Proteins" is an animation developed for the Museum of children in Caracas in 2007.

Chief of Design at Radio Caracas Television

In 1999 he was hired in Radio Caracas Television RCTV as Section Chief of design in the vice presidency of information and special programs. There he renews and develops the image of the entire news called "El Observador" (The observer) wider in audience of Venezuela. He Restructured the entire design team press, and becomes the first to use animations in Venezuela in three dimensions (3D) to represent facts news. In the same way creates together with Teo Castro “The Observer Junior" whose originality by integrating image live with cartoons, do one of the most popular programs from noon in Venezuela. This program won several awards during his stay on the air.

When he left RCTV, started again its activity in the production company M & R Independent Producers, with which develops animated television ads and animated presentations for TV programs, such as the popular program on Radio Caracas Television “Without Limit” who was on the air for nearly 2 years, “Peoples and Towns” broadcast as part of "El Observador" of RCTV, among others.

In The States

In 2005, assuming the vice-presidency of MRZ Productions in Florida USA, where he continued his activity as a traditional animator and 3D.

His work in the States include an animated version of the “Chacal de la Trompeta” with the popular host Don Francisco, in the Hispanic TV channel Univision.

Member

In 2008 he becomes a member of the prestigious animation association ASIFA-Hollywood "International Animated Film Association".

Awards

Jorge Zambrano was hired in 1991 as an animator for the short "Ozone blue sky" from the directors Ana Eliza Misle and Yumei Silva, who was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the International Festival of national parks and protected areas. In that time develops several animations for Petrochemical company of Venezuela PEQUIVEN that explain how to develop the plastic. Same time to his studies of Art, serves as a producer of animated material for the main Venezuelan Oil Company, Petróleos de Venezuela and the Central Bank of Venezuela.

In November 2008 was awarded by the Association of Marketing & Communication Professionals AMCP with the MarCom gold award, in the category Educational Video and also the same year was awarded with the Ava Award 2008 with the first place PLATINUM in two different categories; special effects and animation.

He received a nomination in 2008 as a semi-finalist in the illustration contest for the movie "Concrete Jungle" and his material was include in the DVD’s art gallery. This movie includes participation from the world-renowned skateboard star Tony Hawk and is under the executive production of Quincy Jones III.

Personal Projects

Among his personal projects are the development of the website of his mentor and friend Felix Nakamura together with his daughter Rosa Nakamura, his next film "Love Underground" and "Rosaura on a Bike" this one in honor of his master Nakamura.
