Julianna Révész, sometimes shortened to Júlia Révész (born 24 January 1983) is a Hungarian épée fencer. With Hungary she won a silver medal in the 2005 World Fencing Championships in Leipzig and a bronze medal in the 2013 European Fencing Championships in Zagreb.

Career

Révész's parents wanted her to try a sport where Hungarians were traditionally successful, like fencing or swimming. She was not very fond of swimming, so she chose fencing. Her first coaches were Zoltán Beszédes and Lászlo Kőrösi.

Révész won a bronze medal at the 2001 Junior European Championships in Keszthely. Amongst seniors, she was a member of the Hungary team that won a silver medal in the 2005 World Fencing Championships in Leipzig and a bronze medal in the 2013 European Fencing Championships in Zagreb. In the 2014 Doha Grand Prix she earned her first podium in the Fencing World Cup after defeating world no.1 Ana Maria Brânză 8–7 in quarter-finals;[1] Révész was stopped in semi-finals by Tiffany Géroudet and took a bronze medal.[2]

Révész works with her friend Tamás Kovács at the Knightsbridge Fencing Club since 2010, coaching children and adults.
