Jumana El Husseini

Jumana El Husseini, born in 1932 in Jerusalem,[1] is a Palestinian painter and sculptor living in Paris.[2] She has won many medals and has an extensive international exhibition record.[3]

She studied painting, sculpture and ceramics in Beirut and Paris.[4] Noted for figurative paintings of Palestinian women[5] and geometric[6] houses in Jerusalem and Jericho,[7] her style evolved from realistic to geometric and, since 1987,[8] to abstract,[9] with wavelike overpainted[10] drawings evoking Arabic calligraphy.[9][11][12]
