KSP-76
The KSP-76 was a Soviet Armed Forces assault car that began development in 1943.[1] It mounted a 76 mm divisional gun M1942 (ZiS-3) gun on a wheeled chassis in an attempt to provide support for scout and airborne units.[1] The light chassis proved unable to withstand repeated firings of the gun and the project never got beyond the prototype stage.[1]
Description
The KSP-76 had a crew of three.[2] It consisted of a commander/gunner, gunner/loader, and driver.[2] The hull was divided into three parts.[2] The gun was mounted at the front, the fighting compartment was located at the middle, and the engine was found in the rear.[2] The fuel tank, which had a capacity of 140 liters, was placed to the left of the engine.[2] Fifty four rounds of 76.2mm ammunition were provided.[2]
