Kamalakur is located in Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh, India about 10 km from Badvel.
Statistics
Kamalakur is one of the villages of Badvel assembly segment. It is 45 km from Kadapa, the district headquarters. Kamalakur is the biggest village in the atlur mandal. Based on 2004 election census, total number of voters in Kamalakur grama panchayath is 1300.

History
Once upon a time there was a lake full of lotus flowers near the Shiva temple. Lotus flowers means Kamalamu in Telugu language that's why the village named as Kamalakur. A 450-year-old Historical temple of Kodanda Ramaswamy, constructed by the King Janmejay. The nearest airport is at Tirupathi, which is about 150 km from Badvel, and the nearest railway station is at Kadapa.

Political structure
Freedom Fighter Vaddmani Chidanandam, father of former MLA Dr V. Sivaramakrishna Rao, won twice as Independent from Badvel segment in 1952 and 1962. Later N. Subbareddy elected as MLA .Dr Sivarama Krishna Rao elected twice as MLA to Badvel Constituency who was close follower of former CM Dr YS Raja sekharreddy. All these leaders were born in Kamalakur.
