Bellary, Karnataka is the nearest District Headquarters, 50 km away. Kanekal is part of Rayadurg constituency, which is 28 km away. To the east, Uravakonda is located 33 km away. To the south, Kalayandurg is located 40 km away. Kanekal Cross is 7 km away from Kanekal bus stand, Vicente Ferrer and a group of followers created the "BUDIGUMMA JAYACHANDRA" which is a trust started to help the poor with many services. One of them is the Hospital which provides lot of remarkable services.
