Kannavam Dargah
Kannavam Dargah is a popular Sufi shrine of Kerala. It lies at a distance of one km from Kannavam town. The grave of the Sufi saint is near the entrance of the campus and it fills an entire cabin with hardly any space to pray or walk around. The shrine is surrounded by a burial ground and a mosque. Every year a festival is conducted at the Dargah during which ghee rice is distributed to the devotees. Since the devotees are mostly rich, there is not much enthusiasm for the free food and most of it is thrown away in the festival ground.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census, Kannavam had a population of 8880 with 4219 males and 4661 females.[1]
