Kay Cavendish

Kathleen Dorothy Cavendish Murray, who was billed as Kay Cavendish, was a classically trained pianist and popular entertainer.

Cavendish was born in Hong Kong.[1] She studied at the Royal Academy of Music, where she was awarded a gold medal.[1] She became a member of The Cavendish Three, a close harmony trio.[1] and made over 400 episodes of her weekly BBC radio programme, 'Kay on the Keys'.[1]

She appeared on It's That Man Again and, during World War II, entertained troops for ENSA.[1]

She appeared as a "castaway" on the BBC Radio programme Desert Island Discs on 5 February 1962.[2]

She died aged 89, in 2000.[3]
