Litter in New Zealand
Litter in New Zealand is fairly prevalent in some areas, mainly on the streets. New Zealand people are known to take pride in their 'clean green' image and disprove of any littering in their beaches, waterways and forests. This became evident in the Litter Act which was adopted in 1979; it established the Keep New Zealand Beautiful organisation.
New Zealand participates in the Clean Up the World week.
