Kentucky Route 2857 (KY 2857) is a state maintained route that is primarily a north–south route in Oldham County, Kentucky, United States near Buckner. It begins at its southern terminus at KY 2856 also known as Moody Lane. KY 2857 runs along the edge of a suburban neighborhood, Borowick Farms. It travels north to its northern terminus at New Moody Road where state maintenance ends. New Moody Lane continues east paralleling Interstate 71. KY 2856 is used to connect KY 393 to KY 53 in Oldham County. There are extremely sharp turns and shoulder drop offs. It is two lane its entire stretch. It is not a commonly used commercial motor vehicle route, but it can be utilized as a shorter route if one is travelling from Shelbyville to Buckner. Speed limit is 35 mph (56 km/h) for its entirety.
Route description
KY 2857 begins at an intersection with KY 2856 near Buckner, heading north on two-lane undivided New Moody Lane. The road runs between the residential Borowick Farms neighborhoods to the west and woods to the east. The route comes to its northern terminus at the end of state maintenance, where New Moody Lane curves to the east and parallels I-71 as it heads to an intersection with KY 53.[1][2]
