Kevin Lawrence (born December 2, 1952) is a former IFBB World Champion bodybuilder, nutritional supplement researcher and developer, speaker and writer on exercise physiology and applied nutrition.

Early Life

Kevin Lawrence (born Kevin Lawrence Stensby) was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He grew up in Gelndora, CA . He was raised by his mother, Barbara, and his father Richard Stensby who was a packaging broker.

He grew up with severe hypoglycemia that resulted in other physical ailments such as eczema and frequent fatigue. At age 13 he read the book, “Let's Eat Right to Get Fit” by Adelle Davis and began experimenting with various nutritional supplements and high protein, low-sugar, natural food diets which he claims drastically improved his health and led to his bodybuilding career.[1] Kevin was an all conference football player at Damian HS and was scouted by over 15 different colleges, but several knee surgeries prevented him from getting a collegiate scholarship.[2]

He went to college at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles where he played his final two years of football and studied engineering, accounting and ceramic art.

Bodybuilding and Supplement Career

Kevin gained notoriety in bodybuilding after teaming up with bodybuilding Hall of Fame female bodybuilder Diana Dennis. In 1985 Kevin and Diana won the World Amateur Mixed Pairs championship in bodybuilding.[3] Kevin and Diana appeared on many fitness and muscle magazine covers together and were referred to as the “King and Queen of Bodybuilding” at the time.[4]

In 1982 Kevin was hired by the Great Earth Vitamin Company to endorse and formulate “Great Body” line of sports nutrition products which featured pictures of Kevin and Diana Dennis on the packaging.[5]

In 1992, Kevin founded BioNutritional Research Group, Inc. In 2005 the company changed its name in the media to Power Crunch. Kevin is still the active CEO. In 2014 Power Crunch partnered with Healthcorps.[6][7] Kevin is still the active CEO.
