Kirn, Argyll

Kirn is a village in Argyll and Bute in the Scottish Highlands on the west shore of the Firth of Clyde on the Cowal Peninsula. It now forms part of a continuous built up area between Dunoon and Hunters Quay, where the Clyde joins the Holy Loch. It had its own pier and was a regular stop for the Clyde steamer services.

Kirn Primary School

Old Kirn Primary School was demolished in 2016.[1] The school is currently being rebuilt to modern standards.[2][3]

Dunoon Grammar School

Dunoon Grammar School is situated on Ardenslate Road, next to Cowal Golf Club in Kirn.[4]

Cowal Golf Club

Cowal Golf Club is situated on Ardenslate Road in Kirn, next to Dunoon Grammar School.[5]

Kirn & Hunters Quay Bowling Club

Kirn & Hunters Quay Bowling Club, is situated on Ardenslate Road.[6][7]

Kirn Pier

Kirn Pier was demolished, the only buildings left are the shore side entry buildings.[8][9][10]

Kirn Parish Church

Kirn Church is a red sandstone building in the centre of the village.[11]
