Lacey Sculls (also known as her maiden name, Lacey Conner) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and reality television TV personality. She is best known for her character on the hit TV show Rock of Love with Bret Michaels and Rock of Love: Charm School (with Sharon Osbourne). Lacey was also the lead singer and founding member of the industrial rock band Nocturne, as well as the former live/touring singer for the Belgium industrial/techno band Lords of Acid on their "Sextreme Ball" tour. Currently, Lacey is the singer/founding member of the rock band HALO.
Music
Nocturne
Lacey was the singer, writer, and founding member of industrial rock band Nocturne. Nocturne began in the late 90s out of Dallas, Texas. Nocturne toured the country multiple times with bands such as Mushroomhead, Dope, Pigface, Thrill Kill Kult, Genitorturers and King Diamond. (Nocturne also did several "one off" shows with Ministry.) The band also had support from rock radio stations, won several awards, and Lacey was even voted "Female Vocalist of the Year" twice by local Clearchannel rock radio station listeners.[1] Nocturne signed a record deal with Triple X Records and released their debut album "Twilight" in 1999. The band then signed to Invisible Records/Underground Inc. (the label run by Martin Atkins of Pigface fame), and later released the albums "Paradise Wasted" (in 2002) and "Guide To Extinction" (in 2005).
In 2008, Nocturne broke up, due to the band members becoming involved in other projects. In 2007, on the Rock of Love reunion show, they performed their single "Shallow" from their album Guide to Extinction. They have also done a few shows in Southern California, but have not toured since the break.
Lords of Acid
Prior to HALO, Lacey joined Lords of Acid as their new front woman in 2010. Lords of Acid is a band that has been critically acclaimed within the electronic music and dance music communities. They have sold over 2.5 million albums over the course of their career. Lacey was asked to join the band for their first tour in eight years, taking over for former member Deborah Ostrega. Joined by Thrill Kill Kult on the "Sextreme Ball Tour", Lords of Acid, with new front woman Lacey, hit almost every major market in the country and consisted mostly of sold-out shows. Lacey parted ways with Lords of Acid in 2011 and began working on her own project, HALO.
Pigface
Lacey also was a guest vocalist for the band Pigface, the industrial "super group" that was formed by Martin Atkins. Pigface has a revolving door of members. Along with major icons such as Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails, Danny Carey from Tool, Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ogre from Skinny Puppy, Paul Barker from Ministry, Wayne Static from Static X, and many others, Lacey also was an integral part of Pigface. She sang and toured with Pigface on two U.S. tours (the "United" tour in 2003, and the "Free For All" tour in 2005). Lacey also sang on the Pigface album, "Easy Listening".
Lacey will also be performing with Pigface as part of their upcoming 25th anniversary performance at the House of Blues in Chicago on Nov. 25th, 2016.
Reality television
Rock of Love with Bret Michaels
Lacey Conner was one of the primary cast members of Vh1's hit show Rock of Love'.
Lacey was brought back to the show in 2008, where she made a cameo appearance in the third episode of Rock of Love 2 . She was brought back again in 2009 for the third episode of Rock of Love Bus.
Charm School with Sharon Osbourne
After "Rock of Love", Lacey was cast as a primary character on Vh1's hit show "Charm School" with Sharon Osbourne, which also did very well in the ratings. Again, Lacey played the villain, and lasted to the very end of the season (appearing on every episode except for the very last one).
I Love Money, Season 3
Lacey was selected and participated as a contestant on VH1's I Love Money 3. Lacey was once again, a primary character on the show. The show was set to air in January 2010, but was cancelled by VH1 due to fellow cast member Ryan Jenkins' involvement in the murder of Jasmine Fiore.
Heroes K9 Rescue
In 2007, Lacey founded and ran her own dog rescue organization, Heroes K9 Rescue. Through her organization, Lacey often visited many of the "high kill" animal shelters in the Los Angeles area, and she would rescue the pets that were most at risk of being euthanized (due sickness, old age, or simply because of overcrowding in the shelters). Lacey worked hands on....she would foster the dogs in her own home, provide them with veterinary care, training, and rehabilitation, and then would find new homes for each of the animals that she rescued. To date, Lacey has rescued and rehomed close to 100 pets (mostly dogs, but several cats as well).
Activism
Lacey has been involved in activism for most of her adult life. This includes human rights, equal rights for the LBGT community, feminism, animal rights, and the environment. On June 25, 2011, Lacey performed with her band at the Cleveland Pride Festival. Theron of "Pride Entertainment" states: “A lot of people don’t know the real Lacey, who is a strong independent humanitarian. I am happy to bring her to Pride because Lacey uses her celebrity to stand up for causes close to her heart and is a champion of equality.”[2] In June 2009, Lacey marched in the Los Angeles' Pride parade, in support of the NOH8 campaign.[3] In 2008, Lacey was honored with the title of "Guardian of the Month" by In Defense of Animals's "The Guardian Campaign", for her work in dog rescue.[4] In February 2009, Lacey spoke at a press conference at the California State Capitol, alongside Senator Dean Florez in support of SB 250, a bill written to increase spaying/neutering of pets in an effort to help curb the pet overpopulation problem[5] In 2010, Lacey joined celebrities such as Cesar Millan and Pink (singer), in support of Last Chance for Animals's event, "Puppy Mill Awareness Day" in Los Angeles, California.[6] In that same year, Lacey appeared in Shannon Keith's "Skin Trade", a documentary that exposes the horrors of the fur industry.[7] In addition to the above, Lacey has also attended many other events, protests, and even city hall meetings in her efforts to promote equality for all people, and to promote fair and humane treatment of animals.
Spokesperson
In 2008 and 2009, Lacey was the spokesmodel for Dean Guitars, and she hosted a webcast live from NAMM (the National Association of Music Merchandisers).[8]
