Laukaha (Vidhan Sabha constituency) (Hindi: लौकाहा विधान सभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र) is an assembly constituency in Madhubani district in the Indian state of Bihar.

Overview

As per Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies Order, 2008, No. 40 Laukaha (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is composed of the following: Laukaha and Laukahi community development blocks; Ekhatha, Bathnaha, Gohumabairia, Saini, Dhanouja, Sugapatti, Kalapatti, Siswar gram panchayats of Phulparas CD Block.[1]

Laukaha (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is part of No. 7 Jhanjharpur (Lok Sabha constituency).[1]

Election results

1977-2010

In the November 2010 and October 2005 state assembly elections, Hari Prasad Sah of JD(U) won the Laukaha assembly seat defeating his nearest rivals, Chittaranjan Prasad Yadav of RJD in November 2010 and Anis Ahmad of RJD in October 2005. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Anis Ahmad of RJD defeated Hari Prasad Sah of JD(U) in February 2005. Hari Prasad Sah of Samata Party defeated Chittaranjan Prasad Yadav of RJD in 2000. Lal Bihari Yadav of CPI defeated Abdul Hai Payami of Congress in 1995 and Krishan Dev Goit, Independent, in 1990. Abdul Hai Payami of Congress defeated Lal Bihari Yadav of CPI in 1985. Lal Bihari Yadav of CPI defeated Kuldeo Goit of Congress in 1980. Kuldeo Goit of Congress defeated Abdul Hai Payami of JP in 1977.[2][3]
