Lawra is a small town and is the capital of Lawra district, a district in the Upper West Region of north Ghana.[1]
History
The town was an administrative centre for the historic British empire. The ruins of a large mansion from the empire still, rather incongruously, remain. It is now the district capital of Lawra District.[1]
Tourism
Lawra is known for its musical instrument manufacture, and for the Kobine harvest festival with important dancing and musical events.[1]
