Leila Sujir (born 1951) is a Canadian video artist.[2][3]

Life

Sujir was born in 1951 in Hyderabad India.[2] She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1956.[4] She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English liteature from the University of Alberta in 1971.[5][6] Sujir is an associate professor of Intermedia in the studio arts department of Concordia University.[5][7]

Work

Sujir is known for her video works examining cutlural origin and difference.[8][9][10]

Collections

Suijir's video works are held by several museum collections, including the National Gallery of Canada[3][5] and the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery.[11]
