Leopold Primary School is a public, primary school located in Leopold, Australia. It is situated on the intersection where Kensington Road meets the Bellarine Hwy. Leopold Primary School accommodates over 700 students in from Prep to Grade Six. The school dates back to 1851 when the Leopold town was first established (previously known as Kensington).[1]
In 2001, the school was found to be on unstable foundations and the occupants of the school were moved to portable classrooms while a new school was being developed on the site. The new school building was opened in 2004.[1] In 2010, the construction of a new wing began to support the growing number of students both enrolled and enrolling. This building, which was funding through Kevin Rudd's Building the Education Revolution, opened in 2011.
