Level Office

Level Office is an American co-working and office rental company.[1] Its main clientele are small businesses, such as entrepreneurs and satellite office teams, that need flexible office space. The company currently operates in nine locations in six cities: Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Jacksonville and Seattle.[2]

Background

Level Office[3] was founded by Chicago entrepreneur Bill Bennett in 2013. The idea was initially conceived in 2007, when Bennett couldn't find flexible, short-term office space for his first business.[4] Level Office's flagship building, located at 73 W. Monroe Street in Chicago's Loop, opened in September 2013, followed by two more locations in the Loop in 2014. In late 2014 and early 2015, the company expanded to Texas with two locations in downtown Houston and one in downtown Dallas. In August 2015, Level Office opened its seventh center, in Charlotte, North Carolina's Uptown neighborhood.[5] In December 2015, Level Office purchased the historic Pioneer Building in Seattle's Pioneer Square neighborhood.[6] The company plans to renovate the building's interior to create private offices and co-working space for Seattle small businesses.[7] The company added a location in Jacksonville, Florida's historic Groover Stewart building in February 2016.[8] Founder Bennett teaches Real Estate Entrepreneurship at Kellogg[9] and has led experiential learning courses in which Kellogg MBA student teams consult on sophisticated real estate issues. Real Estate Lab clients include the Blackstone Group, Equity Office Properties, Vornado Realty Trust, Sterling Partners, Caesar's Entertainment, Principal Enterprise Capital, the Northwestern Investment Office, Antheus Capital, McCaffery Interests, and others.

Mr. Bennett received his bachelor of science degree in engineering from Purdue University, a master of science in engineering management from Northwestern University, and his MBA from the Kellogg School.
