Li Qin (Chinese: 李沁; pinyin: Lǐ Qìn; born 27 September 1990), also known by her nickname Sweet Li, is a Chinese actress and singer.[1][2]
Li is noted for her roles as Xue Baochai and Yang Kaihui in the television series and film The Dream of Red Mansions (2010) and The Founding of a Party (2011) respectively.
Life
Early life
Li was born in Bacheng Town of Kunshan city, Jiangsu province on September 27, 1990. At the age of 11, Li studied Chinese traditional opera in Shipai Central School, she is good at Wuxi opera, Shaoxing opera and Kunqu opera.[3]
She graduated from Shanghai Theatre Academy in 2008, majoring in Chinese traditional opera.[4]
Acting career
Li first rose to prominence in 2008 for playing Xue Baochai in the television series The Dream of Red Mansions, based on the novel by the same name by Cao Xueqin.[5][6]
In 2010, Li made her film debut in The Founding of a Party, playing Yang Kaihui, who was the wife of Mao Zedong. She was nominated for Best Newcomer Award at the 31st Hundred Flowers Awards.[7] She again played Yang Kaihui in China in 1921, another patriotic tribute production.
In 2011, Li co-starred with Sandra Ng, Wen Zhang and Louis Koo in the ancient costume comedy film Mr. and Mrs. Incredible as Lan Fenghuang.[8]
Li starred in the romantic comedy television series Watching The Sky (2012), she received positive reviews, and the television series won Gold Angel Award at the 9th Sino-US Film Festival.[9] That same year, Li appeared in the romance film Joyful Reunion.
In 2013, Li starred in My Bright Life, which placed #1 in its rating slot nationally. She then starred in Daughter's Return.[10] The series was broadcast on the prime time slots on four major broadcast channels. She then starred in youth romance drama Flowers of Pinellia Ternata, based on Jiu Yehui's novel of the same name.
Li starred in My Amazing Bride (2014), a romantic comedy television series.[11]
