Notes

  1. Overtime rules in college football were introduced in 1996, making ties impossible in the period since.[3]
  2. Joe Paterno was fired in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal on November 9, 2011, and defensive coordinator Tom Bradley was named the interim head coach in his place.[4][5][6]
