List of Presidents of Malta
Nine people have served as President of Malta since the office was established in 1974, when Malta became a republic within the Commonwealth of Nations. Queen Elizabeth II ceased to be head of state, Queen of Malta (Maltese: Reġina ta' Malta), and the last Governor-General, Sir Anthony Mamo, was appointed the first President of Malta.
