"Little One" is a song by American soul/jazz artist Bilal. The song is the second single from his album Airtight's Revenge. The song earned him a second Grammy Award nomination[1] for Best Urban/Alternative Performance.[2]

Background

The song was written by Bilal, and is dedicated to his son (also children), who is diagnosed and struggles with the inequality of Autism. Bilal eliminates the conflict of guilt that a parent may feel that has birthed a child struggling with Autism with the promise “that no matter, what it takes,” he vows that he will give his all to his child & the social injustice that a child struggling with Autism may experience. Bilal recognizes the influence of his voice & uses it to empower the theorized perspectives of Autism with a dynamic dedication to his oldest in conjunction with Autism Speaks in order to bring "awareness" to Autism.[3]

Music Video

The video for “Little One” follows a family that has recently found out their son is autistic and follows their reaction to it.[4] The video stars, actors' Erica Hubbard, Dorian Missick (Mooz-lum, The Cape), and NFL star Sinorice Moss and directed by Matthew A. Cherry.[5]
