Lord Mount Stuart
Lord Mount Stuart is a title held by the Marquess of Bute. The first person to hold this title was James Stuart, 1st Earl of Bute, who received the title in 1703.
Lord Mount Stuart has been used as a courtesy title by several of the heirs apparent of the earl / marquess of Bute:
- John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute (1713-1792) was styled "Lord Mount Stuart" 1713-1723
- John Stuart, Lord Mount Stuart (1767-1794) predeceased his father John Stuart, 1st Marquess of Bute and was thus styled "Lord Mount Stuart" for his entire life
- John Stuart, 1st Marquess of Bute (1744-1814) was styled "Lord Mount Stuart" 1744-1792
