Lost Spirits is a distillery and technology company which produces whiskey and rum.[1][2][3] The company is notable for it's scientific and experimental production techniques, and its cult following.[4][5][6][7][8]
The company is currently operating in partnership with the Rational Spirits distillery in Charleston, South Carolina.[9] However, it has traditionally operated out of its own facilities in Monterey County, California and Silicon Valley, California.[10][11]
In 2015 the company attracted media attention when it announced that its co-founder, Bryan Davis, had invented a new means of aging spirits. Davis' process was shown, using modern analytical chemistry, to replicate the chemical reactions which take place as spirits age in barrels.[12][13][14]
In 2015 Lost Spirits and Davis were presented the Global Master Award for innovation from the Spirits Business for the technical achievement.[15]
