Lou Cass (born April 20, 1966[1]) is an American actor and porn star. He retired from pornography in 1990 and began a career as a film and television actor and recording artist.

Background

Cass began his career in porn in 1987, appearing in Le Salon Studio's biggest-selling video, Weekend Workout, with François Papillion. In 1989, he won the Adam Gay Video Directory "Dave Award" for Best Performer for his role of Billy Blue in Sexy Billy Blue. He appeared in his last porn film, Catalina Video's Man of the Year, in 1990, co-starring with Joey Stefano. Clips from his films were used in The Best of Joey Stefano and Oral Extravaganza, compilation videos released after his retirement from the industry.

He started up Forrest Films, his own production company, in 1990; he produced, directed, and sometimes appeared in films which included The Private Home Videos of Lou Cass, The Private Lives of Lou Cass, Pleasure Theater (for which he also did the soundtrack), and Made in China. He also recorded a cover of Nick Gilder's, Rated X, which was released as a 12" Dance Record single in 1990. A performance of Cass's single at the I-Beam dance club in San Francisco was quickly sold out. He later performed the single for Bill Graham's In Concert Against AIDS, opening for Grateful Dead, Linda Ronstadt and Huey Lewis and the News.

Shortly following his retirement from porn, Cass began his forays into the mainstream entertainment business. His first role was on the daytime soap opera General Hospital. His first movie role was playing one of Nick Mancuso's hired guns in the direct-to-video action flick The Takeover in 1994. This was followed by an appearance on Disney film, I Love Trouble, with Nick Nolte and Julia Roberts, and appearances on Melrose Place, Beverly Hills, 90210, Picket Fences, The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr., Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, seaQuest DSV.

Cass returned to the Adult Film Industry in 2007, starring in Falcon Studio's "DARE". In May 2008, Lou Cass won the "Best Actor of the Year in a non-sexual performance" at 'the Grabby awards' in Chicago, ILL.
