Lou Gish (27 May 1967 – 20 February 2006) was an English stage, film and television actress.
Early life
She was born Louise Mikel Henrietta Marie Curram in 1967, the elder daughter of the actor Roland Curram and the actress Sheila Gish. She was raised in London and originally saw herself as an artist rather than an actress. She trained in Camberwell and went on to gain a BA Honours degree at the Camberwell College of Arts.
Career
A role in a fringe play in Paddington brought her the attention of an agent, and this convinced her to follow her family into a career in the theatre, taking roles on stage, in television series, and in film. She appeared with her sister, Kay Curram, in King Lear at the Chichester Festival Theatre in 2005.
Personal life
Gish was the partner of actor Nicholas Rowe until her death. Ewan McGregor was her step cousin.
Death
She died of cancer at the age of 35. Her death came less than a year after that of her mother, in March 2005, who was also a cancer victim. Both mother and daughter were buried at Highgate Cemetery.
