Madina Central College is a school situated in Kandy district, Madawala, Sri Lanka.[1][2] It is a mixed school and it currently has about 3150 students and teachers about 120. The current principal and vice principal are A.H.M.Azeez and Mr.Ali Jinna respectively.This school offers both primary and secondary education. This school has all the essential fascilities. Madawala has gained reputation and popularity because of this school. Students from far away places like Digana, Udathalawinna, Kandy, Katugastota come here due its popularity and perfection.The school holds cricket matches with Azhar college every year,but it has now stopped for a while due to a fight which occurred at the stadium when a match was going on.[3] At the beginning of every year, the school holds the annual sports meet[4] and in every end of the year the school holds its annual price giving.[5] The students have achieved a lot in studies and as well as in sports.The school holds a vast background.[6]
History
In 1930s a revolutionary concept and a social worker,Abubakkar Lebbai Sayyadhu Mohammed established this school in 02.12.1935.The first principal was A.K.Subramaniyam .The school only granted admission to boys at first. And at the beginning there were only 3 teachers and 36 students.In 1936 this school was developed with an addition of 01 teacher (totally 04) and 170 students (totally 215). And apart from that in 04.09.1937 Teachers and Parents Association was created.Further more in 1944 S.S.C classes were started .And in 1948 with 423 students and 15 teachers a new block was constructed and was in use.
In 1952 the school was divided into 2 categories as upper school and lower school and had improved with 14 classes.In 1958 the girls in the village were also granted with admissions to join the school.And in that time the educational minister Mr.Dasanayaka constructed a new block to the school and the school was beginning to get popular. In 1994 the school was announced as a national school.In the period where A.H.M.Siddeek(1997–2008) was the principal the school was developed with new physical resources. In 2003 they had constructed a new block and was separated for the English Medium, and it was started successfully.The school gained more reputation and bought it to a spotlight.Many students started to join after that. A new auditorium was opened in 2004 in Memory of M.H.M.Ashraff who was the founder of Sri Lanka Muslim Congress. It had a vast capacity that it holds a lot of cultural events,and a lot of other school participants take place in it too.[7][8]

Achievements
Siraj Sahab was elected as the Mobitel school boy cricketer of the year in the silver division on 20.10.2014.[10]
2004-Present
A computer lab was opened on 2004.11.01 .In 2008 Mr.Ali Jinna was the principal. And at that time he developed all the sectors and encouraged the students.In the period 2008-2010, Old boys association members Alhaj Musni Mulaffar and Alhaj Riffthi Mulaffar gifted a bus to the school which was worth 40 lakhs to school uses.And now the school has about 3150 students and about 120 teachers.[11] In the early 2015, a technological laboratory was constructed by the Sri Lankan government which was led by the former president Mahindha Rajapaksa.It contains 4 rooms including math room.It also contains 40 computers.[12]
