Mahadevapura is a small village in Mandya district of Karnataka province in India. It is 20 kilometres (12 mi) from Mysore city.

Transportation

The road from Mysore to Mahadevapura starts from Sathgully bus station in East Mysore. It goes through Ramanahalli village before reaching Mahadevapura bridge.[1]The river Kaveri has a bund here. The water overflowing the bund is very photogenic. Coracle rides are popular here. Swimming is dangerous soon after monsoon and otherwise very safe. No accommodation or restaurants are available here. It is considered as a picnic spot only. [2]

The village is known as a picnic spot because of its riverside charm and the laid back lifestyle.[3]

Film Shooting

Many films were shot in Mahadevapura village because of its scenic charm. There is an old house near the house that appeared in many films and finally acquired the name shooting house.
