Mamsapuram (மம்சாபுரம்) is a panchayat town in Virudhunagar district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
This town is famous for treatment of broken bones by bone setting through siddha. Its economy is dependent on the numerous Matches and Firework industry.
It is named In remembrance of Muhammed Yusuf Khan.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Mamsapuram had a population of 17,931. Males constitute 49% of the population and females 51%. Mamsapuram has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 74%, and female literacy is 56%. In Mamsapuram, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age. Mamsapuram has one higher secondary school and many high schools and nursery schools.
All community people contributed well in the township development. People leaving their traditional farmer category into useless economic category.
